Greetings all

I hope your Summer is going well.

After a committee meeting upstairs in the club last week I had the opportunity to look out at all the activity in the club and was very impressed.

This time of the year always shows off the work and commitment of the development committee and grounds keepers to their fullest and the club really does look great. We are very fortunate to have such people working within the club structures. 

In club news the festivals committee is now in full swing planning for Tribfest this August with Tickets selling well. You will all have received the Clubzap message inviting you to participate. All support and time are welcome, required and hugely appreciated.

I'd like to use this opportunity to announce The Maws Cup, an inter-section competition which will be run over the Summer. The basic concept is each section will host an evening where their own sport is on show, each other section will send a team.  The teams don't need to be composed of the same people each week and the hosting section can offer people to help fill in teams if its coming in short.

The sporting occasion will be followed by the hosting section providing refreshments in the bar so we'll all have an opportunity to show off our hosting skills also. 

Scoring will be as follows with a league table displayed in the club throughout

(There will also be points given out at the end for whichever section hosted the best event, I've had several people volunteering to be the judges.)

It's all meant to be a bit of fun to encourage an opportunity for people to mix and meet people from other sections while also having a chance to try your hand at something new but it goes without saying that the winning section will enjoy bragging rights for the rest of the year.

We'll be kicking the competition off on the 26th of June with Bowls hosting the opening event, thank you very much Bowls for getting us started.
