Walking Hockey will start at the North Kildare Sports Club on the 19th of October. We welcome men and women over 55 (or thereabouts) and it is suitable for both beginners and experienced hockey players. Walking Hockey is already being played in a number of countries and North Kildare is one of a small number of hockey clubs in Ireland now offering this very enjoyable and sociable activity. Although it is quite similar to regular hockey, it is played on a much smaller pitch and with specific rules to ensure no one gets injured. Running is not required (although not strictly forbidden) and the ball must be kept low. Benefits include regular exercise, fresh air (no matter the weather) and a chance meet old and new friends.

It takes place on Thursday mornings from 10-11am, with tea and biscuits after. Walking Hockey will run for 8 weeks before breaking for the festive period and will start up again for another 8 weeks after that.
It is free* for current members of the Club. New players can avail of a 2-week free trial.

If you would like to join in, just come along and try it out. You can even come along to watch and join us for tea.

Also, we'd appreciate it if you can share this info with friends, neighbours and family members that might enjoy it. Everyone is very welcome!
